Raymond. Yes, and well over the top by the looks of it…..
1.40 an hour…but 2 an hour Sundays, 6 hrs max stay and no reduction for longer stays…..that’s public car park prices.
Unfortunately there is no alternative round here. Silvermere I think is the nearest but it’s a club and no fast boats…..or there is a club at Home Park, next door to Bushy but that’s sail only.
By the time you have driven all that way (and paid a small charge I believe at Silvermere…certainly club fees, you may as well be at Bushy.
There was a “consultation” period, laughably, but although you know the money won’t go on beautifying the park, you cannot, on paper, argue against the aims of the raised money…less pollution, money to do stuff in the park, better for wildlife and all that.
The park has a “temporary” road block across the main Chestnut Ave, so you can only get to the Diana car park (for boating) via the Hampton court gate. Teddington gate only allows access to the Wilderness car park (for the Hampton side of the park) and the Pheasantry cafe. That’s a 6 month “trail” to see how it improves things, but as I see no criteria against how effective the block is, it’s another laughable thing.
Its a bugger, but hey ho, you could say we have had it good for the last 30 years!
