Featured in the 2011 Winter Special issue on sale 28th October is a review of the new Trumpeter USS Arizona kit which has been motorised by Dave Abbott.

Hi Colin

Well I’ve gone and done it I just bought the Arizona thanks to the build in the October Special. I wonder if you can ask Dave the sizes of the motors he used and the lengths of the prop-shafts. This will be my first plasic model for radio.

Hi Bob,

Dave says he obtained the running gear as a set from SHG Models. I can’t specifically see it on their website but if you phone them on 01785 840308 they should be able to give you the details (and price!)

You could email them but others have reported that this is a bit hit and miss.

or a 370 which is the one supplied for the King Midas.

Not sure why you refer to it as a ‘landmark’ model Ashley but it is something a bit out of the usual run of plastic kits and I think a lot of people will find it an attractive project.

I have Trumpetert kit of this model and in Poland we have very very good dokumunatation on this ship by Goralski renderindg 3D. I want build this model and if you show me more pictures of yuor mdel, I would be very grateful.
