I've acquired a 36 inch RSL 100 class type hull with no gear or anything above the deck, for that matter.

It has one prop shaft, two rudders and looks like it had a fuel engine, not electric motor fitted.

As I'm an RC glider man can anyone give me a shopping list of items I'll need to get this up onto the plane.

I've got 37meg radio equipment at my disposal.

        Regards, Roop.

Can't help with the boat, but if you are in the UK, you can add new radio gear to your list.

For surface vessels, only 27meg, 40meg or 2.4ghz radio is permitted.

Hi Roop and welcome to the forum. A photo (s) would not go amiss to show us the state of play regards the hull and existing fittings.

Then you probably need to decide what you want the boat for (going racing/very fast/quite quick) etc and how much you want to spend.

Then we can give you some information. There is hard and fast rule though for equipping a boat, so people have their own preferences as to what should be installed. This is not conflicting advice, its just that nothing is set in stone.

Finishing the boat off with a top will also depend on what you want to use it for. Powerboat drivers are easily obtainable and a fairly flat top suitable for that look is easily made. Whereabouts are you located?? A club is usually a good starting point, to see other boats and get advice, esp those that have fast boats.

I'm guessing that you aren't in the UK. Your location would therefore help, because there's no point in us suggesting stuff which you can't obtain.

Yes, sorry. I could embed them for some reason.

I'm in the uk, Doncaster, in fact.

I'll model it on the hsl 102 vessel. It doesn't need to fly. Only to plane.

Then what I posted above about the radio stands (unless you made a typo & meant 27 not 37), CADMA show is local to you, a good chance to do some shopping. wink

I'm a Yorkshire lad myself, born in Mexborough but now residing in Lincoln.

Hmm, have I ever fixed your computer or did you work at Rustons? You look familiar.

Anyway, I require answers to motor power, mass balance to achieve plane config, prop size, reduction ratio ( if any), battery type, etc.

I'd really like to get the deck on this weekend but can't until I know what kind of underfloor access it'll need.

We'll leave the radio issue until I've decided on whether to turn it into an Ekranoplan or a PBY.

Ta for the pics, BTW. Everything above the gunnel will be freeform.

I did indeed work for Rustons, in the 70's I was chargehand/slinger in the forge steel stores.

I left when I found out that all the forge work was being moved to Newton-Le-Willows.
