Hitec transmitters may need a firmware upgrade when using the new Minima range of receivers. My transmitter is an Optic 6 fitted with a Spectra 2.4ghz module.

In order to carry out this upgrade, a HPP-22 PC Programmer is required. This connects to your pc with a USB to Mini 5pin cable (not supplied with the HPP-22).

When I bought the Minima receiver, the instructions say press and hold the link button (on the transmitter module), turn on the transmitter, release the link button, check if blue LED is blinking, if red LED is blinking press the link button for 2 seconds so the LED changes to blue. This wouldn't change on mine and I had to purchase the HPP-22 device to update the firmware. The device was connected to the pc and the instructions & youtube demonstration were followed. All went ok.

This did seem initially a problem, to purchase a receiver which wouldn't work, but when the HPP-22 device is bought this will allow any future updates from Hitec to be installed from their website.
