      I am having a bit of difficulty and patience trying to buy a 6v battery for my R/C set. On the receiver it has a three pin connector for the battery, Would it be possible to use a telephone battery which has a two pin connector or would it damage the receiver ? If its ok to use the two pin connecter Would it still be possible to bind the receiver and transmitter together without the third pin. ?

          What type of radio is it and why are you looking for a 6v battery? Most receiver packs are 4 rechargeable cells i.e. 4.8v. You can find all you need here **LINK** along with switch harnesses, chargers, leads etc.

            Hi Dave,

            Its a Planet T5 radio, I looked at the battery pack and saw 4 cells, Automatically thought they were 1.5 volt cells hence my looking for a 6v Battery. I realise these batterys are 1.2v . As you can see i`m a novice where R/C is concerned, thanks for your help.

              You can use four Alkaline AA cells (non-rechargeable) in the T5 transmitter as these draw very little current and the batteries can last a long time, but I always advise rechargeable cells in both. Ironically your model may have an electronic speed controller which is equipped with Battery Eliminator Circuitry (BEC), in which case you don't need a separate receiver battery pack at all.                 Dave,

                I think that I am going your advice regarding the rechargeable battery cells. My model dosnt have a BEC circuit but having looked at the link you gave me I have had a look at their website and found plenty of interest and electronic circuits that will help me in the future particularly being a complete novice at any form of electronics, (apart from flicking a switch) Ive found out on the website that I should have a switch between the battery cells and receiver, Have got one fitted now.
