Hi people, Returning to boats after a long relationship with all things flying I find myself in a bit of a quandry. I'm finally starting on my Model Slipway Broome 44 after digging it out of the loft. I happen to have two Speed 600 Ecos' which I shall be fitting and I am unsure which ESCs' and props would best suit these motors. The hull is a rather heavy 32ins. Any advice is more than welcome, thanks

      Barry.

Prop. Common rule is "a bit smaller diameter than the motor can". Say about 35mm.

ESCs – Viper 15 for each motor will give good control and be conservatively enough rated.

This will form a sound basis, but I'd use either 7.2v or 8.4v NiMH cells and not the 12v SLA shown.

I'd try 3-blade 35mm props to start with.

Barry. I think the chaps are talking a load of old BRASS here… brass props.

Plastic ones usually have very small pitch, but of course if you have some try a size larger in plastic, 40mm say.

OR try "S" pitch 35mm two blade props, very cheap, get a pair of 40mm at the same time.

An ammeter is a good buy for setting up boats with, takes the guesswork out of a lot of it, and you can tailor the current consumption to your needs…ie performance/endurance by altering the variables..voltage and prop size.

Thank you gentlemen for your prompt replies. I shall take your advice onboard ( pun intended ) and proceed with the build,

                Barry.
