Just bought an MFA Tracker from Ebay. Came with above ESC (sytandard issue for this boat, I think) and twin Torpedo 800 motors. Unfortunately there were no instructions & I have scoured the internet for the ESC instructions – or even an EC that looks similar (I know that these things often get re-branded), but to no avail!

The ESC has one programing button, that seems to need to be held down for a couple of seconds and a green and a red LED. I seem to have been able to programme neutral (by trial and error) and whilst the red LED comes on when I put the transmitter in to reverse, the motors do not respond in this direction. The ESC does say on it that it is reversible & I am hoping that someone either has the manual, or knows the secret combination!

Have you tried MFA themselves?? I have one of these ESCs but of course the setup instructions are long gone, and it appeared to work ok without me fiddling with it in the first place.

If I remember i did try to fiddle with it but couldnt get it to re program either?

            Hi Pete

As you bought from fleabay could it be a damaged unit?

Thank you both for the responses. I did contact MFA, who kindly sent me the instructions – although these were only first time use & very basic. I did however discover that this ESC is infact a Jamara HF30, although I cant find instructions for this on the internet. I suspect that the unit is faulty, but will keep trying. Although, I have just ordered and recieved a different and new marine ESC – a Tornado 50A, which I am sure will do the job. The other ESC might just go a boat someday that only needs to forward! I got the Boat / Motors / ESC / 12v battery / charger / RC (Digimac II ! – which I wont use as I am all Spektrum) for £100, so I don't feel too out of pocket & the new ESC was only £30.

              regards

              Pete
