      I've acquired an old tug called Lady Edna and I've been busy installing a new motor, esc and receiver plus brass propeller and inner shaft. I don't now if this is from a kit or scratch built. It looks old, however this can be deceiving as it looks like it's been kept in a shed. Lots of cleaning with a cotton bud and water. The hull is plank on frame.             Hi Peter,

            I doubt if it's a Sun tug it looks rather angular like a freelance model.

              Ray, I think you are right. It does have some similarities but it isn't the same. It is probably a freelance build. I've tried it on the lake and it runs beautifully.

                If it was intended to be a model of a particular ship, the funnel logo might help – there are web sites with lots of examples. Knowing the company (provided it isn't the makers own logo) might narrow the choices down.

                Knowing the dimensions of the model hull helps to figure out whether it was a kit or a plan or something else, assuming that the builder didn't rescale anything. It could have started off as, say, a Sun XXI hull, and gained a different superstructure during the build, just because.

                  Malcolm, the length of the Lady Edna is 23 inches and it's widest point is 6 inches. Will have a look online at the funnel logo.

                    Went through funnel logo sites, the Lady Edna's appears to be a made up one.
