I have just found out that Stavros whow is a is a highly respected guy within our hobby is poorly in hospital after suffering a stroke , I wish him a speedy recovery and my thoughts are with his family at this tough time.

I gather that it was a "mini-stroke" and that he was hoping to be home today. A mutual friend had already arranged to visit this evening.
If I hear anything more I shall post the news here.

he was of last night when we were chatting, grumpy and bored and wanting to start a new model, but couldn't afford the ply………..told him I had some he could have, but he's restricted to no driving for 4 weeks, and I can't get down there with my broken leg…………..so if anyone is close drop him some 16th, 8th and 6mm ply in…………i'm sure he would be grateful……..

he's good Bob..………..some short term memory loss from now and then, but back at work……….he is at the moment painting the two Shannon lifeboats that I am building, and making a good job of it too.

and to you mate…………..are you going to the new ellesmere boat show, or has it been………..I lose track of things when I have buried myself in these lifeboats, and just have tunnelled vision trying to get things finished……..even harder when you are building two at once.
