Hi all,
just working on my Spitfire kneeler and it occurred to me that I never see anything about them on British forums.
I was inspired to make this one a couple of years ago when I came by accident upon their excellent website:- http://www.152vo.de/
It will translate if you click English. Not very well, but you'll get the gist.
I really can't see why this hasn't taken off in this country. Scale models of kneeler hydros from the "golden era" with near replicas of the older outboards on the bag, with smaller brushlesses inside.
Driver figures in 1/6th scale to ensure they fit in a 1:5.2 scale boat. Proper accessories, made or bought to make the boats look incredibly realistic.
Fair racing based on a formula calculated on motor Kv, prop size and pitch and battery cell numbers. several different classes to cover most boat types. It is very well organised.
But considering it has been going since 2011, it is still only done in Germany and Holland mainly.
It would be SO good to see it take off over here in the land of Tugs'n'tankers!
Cheers,
Martin
