        bent rudder 2.jpgHi All

Whilst running the Precedent Huntsman I hit something in the water at top speed.

The boat jack knifed 80 degrees, the stern jumped into the air.

        The headed towards the shoreline.

I hit reverse and stopped it, short of land.

        NO STEERING !!!

        Forward and Reverse OK.

        I think I have a problem!!!!

        I was only doing 35KPH, sir !!!

That sort of rudder modification often gets accompanied by a conversion of a two blade prop into a 1 1/2 blade prop.

                Hi Guys

Well it missed the prop, so all that is OK.

It must of been a log because the leading edge of the rudder is not damaged!!!

NO DAVE IT WAS FULL AHEAD AT THE TIME OF COURSE !!!

                    new rudder.jpgHi Andy

I was not going really fast, because the twin turbo's are not installed.

AKA running on 3S not 4S Lipo battery, another 5000 plus rpm.

My mate made me a new rudder from stainless steel and I installed it today.

Also check the servo gears and no damage!!!

Added the boat's name which was given to me by Dave Milborne in honour!!!!

                        Hi Harry

If you are going for a high speed model then it might be prudent to include defensive skegs to protect both the propellers and rudders.

Image result for power boat skeg

If you hit another hazard at high speed the skeg will effectively lift your boat over the object and minimise any damage to the running gear.

                        Paul
