Hi, just seen this weeks Lidl bargain bits, due in on Thursday. They are advertising a full sized mains powered fret saw for £60-00 which is about half price from other outlets, I think

Form an orderly queue on Thursday!

ps they sell Easter eggs too…….

Who knows, Bob? Maybe after Thursday we'll find out…or perhaps we won't.

The Parkside tools are great value but they do fit cheap blades / bits etc. so you might have to change the cutting blade for a decent one.

I have had a couple of tools from Lidl over the years which didn't last very long, but I bought an airbrush kit about 4 years ago, mainly for the small compressor which has been very good. Guess sometimes they are a bargain sometimes not.

I have just purchased one of these fret saws and I can report that it cuts very well but the supplied blade has a tendency to wander so I went to screwfix and bought a propriety brand and now the saw cuts perfectly.

                        Hi Paul,

glad it works well. I already have one so didn't need this one. On the subject of blades, I have several different blade sides and tooth count fir different applications.

The point I am getting to is :- I have found the easiest way to store the blades is in old plastic tubes that held barocca type vitamins or steredent tablets.

                        Might be useful to others.

                        Chris

This is not a lidl bargain but Amazon have a lightning deal at 3pm today of a Dremel 3000 for £30'ish, doesn't confirm that price yet but expect it will be about that. Seems a good buy for beginners like me.
