At the moment, I am having an interlude from model shipbuilding. In all this dark, wet weather, I seldom feel inclined for much modelling, as even going out to the shed to use the drill press or band saw results in me getting soaked!

So, I have been drawing up sailing ship plans, small scale. I am finding the work very inetersting, and am getting better at it all the time. No warships, of course, as my field is specifically merchant ships of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Very nice Bob. Now all you need is a 3D printer and you won't have to go to the bother of actually building them!

Ha Ha – 3D printers One of our North West Shipwrights members has just got one. he brought it to the meeting. He had to assemble it himself, which he did OK. But so far, it hasn't produced anything! After going to all that expense, he now finds that he needs a computer programme to feed the plans into. He is looking into it, and we are all eagerly awaiting a demonstration!
