I'm interested to build Mobile Marines "Brackengarth 1/32 scale tug and would like to ask if any members have built one. I am particularly interested in the huge power option for this tug for which I do not understand very well. I am definitely not interested in speed.

Thank you for your reply. I intend to use the tug for towing barges – I have a very large Koi fish pond which should be ideal. This will be my next build so I'm getting info before purchasing – one bit of the cherry as they say.

So can I ask you what you would power this huge tug with? I would like to put two 12v motors driving through a gearbox to spin one prop just like the real one?

I'm also currently building my first tug – Eldergarth from Mobile Marine Models. it is fitted with 2 x 12v 7 pole motors directly coupled to the prop shafts with a 4 blade prop using Korz. Not sure how this boat will perform. the build is going well with no problems.
