To all that have tried to offer me help in the past, I thank you all for giving me so many things to keep my mind busy.

I was given a terminal diagnosis a few weeks ago and it is only the tremendous joviality of this forum that has taken my mind off of life and all that cr*p. I intend to carry on making a pig's ear out of a sow's purse as long as I can and will let you all know of the disasters or triumphs as they occur.

at THE MOMENT, I AM HAVING A CRACK AT THE BRUSHLESS CONUNDRUM WITH MY "ttNTAGEL" MODEL AND WILL LET YU KNOW THE RESULTS AS SOON AS ALL THE CHEAP CRAP BITS ARRIVE and  I CAN INSTALL THEM.

        Danmn, typing is bad tonight

          Mike,

Thanks for sharing this with us. Obviously it is difficult to know what to say except that you have our every sympathy for your predicament.

In the meantime just ask away if you need any assistance and we will do our best to help.

I guess my telling you to keep trying stuff until you found something that works now seems doubly insensitive, for that would take too much time which you don't have. Sorry, mate.
I've been recommended to try a Turnigy D2822/17 motor with a Hawk speed controller as a reasonable substitute for a stock 540. The gear has arrived and I'm starting to build the boat this week. Don't go anywhere until it's done, OK?

Mike, once you get down to sorting out the Brushless stuff, you will be pleasantly surprised!

You will be amazed at the apparent smooth and quiet manner in which they perform!

Just make sure you read the instructions on wiring and setting up

                  All the best…….Bob

OK you lot, enough of the sympathy, it doesn't suit any of you. But thanks anyways up.

I always try to remember that there are many who are worse off than I, the trouble is that they are all dead ! devil

Dave, I purchased ( I HATE THAT WORD ) a pair of these **LINK**

                    and two  of these **LINK**

and have them fitted ready to try on the water. I also bought ( AAARGH ) a pair of 14.4v 2800mah battery packs to cut the weight down. The props produce almost enough wind to blow the boat off my bench so I'll probably have to downsize the props. Time will tell

Results will be available soon in my brushless post.

That combination will probably boil the lake. Stand well back when you open the taps………………and to one side!

I don't understand this brushless mumbo jumbo but I am looking forward to seeing your results as I have a cunning idea for a high speed catamaran driven by a brushless motor in each sponson.

Results are in the changing to brushless thread.

I hate that idea about a high speed catameringue. When are the plans going to be available? Next week or maybe sooner ?

So you don't like my idea for high speed twin hulled confectionary?

When will the plans be ready……Lets see.

I've got Haydock to get ready for…..Thor to complete,…. VGC to build,… Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier to design….Type 26 drawings to prepare for downloads……Ellie to turn into a kit…..

Would some time next week do laugh

If you didn't spend so much time sitting around getting bored, they would be ready a lot sooner.

And I thought they raced horses at Haydock, not boats. Seahorses perhaps ?

Why not just let us have your model boat bucket list? Stuff can be done. It's a PITA trying to out-guess you.

                                  Hi Mike,

I've not been a member of this website very long, but in the short time I have had great response to my questions,

sorry to hear of your diagnosis, I also have a terminal illness & like you say it's things like this forum that keep your spirits up, I can tell you have a great sense of humour, so I've got to say

"We're in the same boat "

                                  keep smiling Dude !
