        Hello fellow boat builders.

I'm not sure if this post is in the right place, maybe should have gone on "scratch building".

I'm trying to gather information on the Galatea. So far have managed to get some good pictures but no drawings showing plan and side elevations.
I'd like to make a model of this ship somewhare around 40" long which I guess would be about 1:32 scale.

I wonder if anyone knows of a fiber glass hull which could be modified to suit or any details of scratch built models already built and by whom.

Many thanks for any help offered

        Kind regards

        Mike

          Mike,

I assume you have seen the artilce by Jimmy Wood on his Galatea model in the current (December) issue of Model Boats?

            Hi Colin

            Thanks for the speedy reply.

Answer No I hadn't but I have now.

I borrowed a copy from my pal.

            What an interesting article.

            Many thanks

            Mike.

              Hello Mike

The galatea is 84 metres long, so 1:32 will be a large vessel indeed! The model in the latest Model Boats being 1:100.

I've sent a pm by the way, seems we had similar thoughts, though mine went north of the border!

              Rgds, Kimosubby

                Hi Kim

Think that was a bit ambitious at 1:32, I'm not planning riding in it myself!

1:1000 is just a tad more manageable.

                Good luck with your build

                Mike
