within the last 12 hours a model of a 47' Watson lifeboat was stolen from my house, I would like to ask that if anyone knows anything about the theft of if they see it being flogged anywhere could they notify police or send me a pm.

      thanks very much.

      Lance

It would look exactly as it does in the photo minus the roof which I found on the pavement outside. +

Very sorry to hear of your loss Lance. It is not a common model and is readily identifiable so hopefully somebody will see it.. No doubt you will be monitoring EBay.

            Hi Colin

Perhaps our magazine could put a small insert in the next available mag. reaching a far greater modeller population .I will inform my modeller friend to keep a sharp eye out. Hope it returns soon. Michaelwink

Its a very distinctive model and it will show up again after it has been sold on a couple of times, you should visit car boot sales in your area just in case it pops up at one of those events.

Meanwhile I would suggest that you contact as many model clubs as you can and circulate the pictures and description so that more people will be on the lookout.

Do you have any images of the interior such as the motor or servo set up as these items are less likely to be altered by painting, repair, modification or substitution.

                Hi,

Yes, we've been busy with local clubs and model shops. The model was incomplete – there were a couple of motors inside, but nothing else – we hadn't got that far.

It started life as one of the Models by Design hulls – although I got it well before they, or even David Metcalf, got hold of the moulds, but the superstructure is completely scratch built from wood (ply, balsa, mdf – whatever came to hand), also the rudder servo connects to the rudder shaft via a toothed belt scrounged out of an old printer.

(I don't know what happened to the pictures above – they're a bit squashed, but if you paste the image URL into a browser, you can see the original pics).

                Cheers

                Lance
