      Hello all,

just thought I'd show you this, a converted static "Billings" Osenberg longboat, now water tight and ready to sail in our model boat pageant on Friday.

I've even managed to add some club members as crew, and a couple of ringers (Dave Collier for one). This should really appeal to Ashley as we like to make our boats have individual appearance and character.

I might try to get the oars going one day, but she will be "sutely" towed using fishing line, behind my thames barge.

We currently have 76 model boats promised for our event. We even have the weather that you had forecast for the day too – misty rain, light winds!

The crew are made from………ask and I'll tell!

Finger puppets?? I thought they were smurfs at first…

I am not struck by the realism on display here..since when did Vikings have Blue helmets?? eh??

Sutley…is this subtly? I would reccommend using 1/4 inch clear acrylic rod for towing. You will not have a snarl-up, and it is invisible when underwater and just a few feet off the bank. I have used 1/2 rod to tow the Type 22 behind me aircraft carrier and it works really really well. Just need the smallest of eyes under the front of the Drakkar and one under the (whatever) towing boat. and hooks (fishing swivel trace ones like safety pins) set into the end of the rod.I think I have a picture of my combination in my album somewhere.

Ashley. Yes this sort of thing appeals to me! A subtle electric drive could be incorporated using the centre shelter tent as a cover,,,

            Ashley,

my bad grammar and the spell checker let it through – so it must be a word.

The helmets are grey primer, and matt varnished!

They are made from cloths pegs.

Thought about a small electric, have to instal a tent, and a hidden rudder too. I'll take a peek at your album for this tow rod, sounds the ticket.

            Cheers, Kimosubby

              inserted,,,, carrier towing T22.

Ok, not actually moving much there, but the tow remains invisible even at speed.
