            Thanks Bob,
It is a model of the Finnish four-masted barque LAWHILL, photographed from a low angle and a “blizzard” superimposed on top. It is about 11 inches long!

              Nice one, Bob

I took it for the real thing!
I find those old barques etc, an awesome fascinating and frightening era!

And Merry Christmas and Happy Boating for 2012 from me!

Thank you all for your interesting and valuable contributions to the Forum in 2011. A lot of people look at this website and they will see that Model Boating in its various guises is still thriving despite the economic circumstances (or maybe because of them!)

A special mention to Bob Abell for his wonderful and entertaining story on the trials and tribulations of the Great Eastern Cable Laying Project. The full story is due to be published in Model Boats in the New Year.

So, again, thanks to one and all and let’s carry on our discussions in 2012. In the meantime, get building – and for once I will try and follow my own advice despite having four on the go at the moment!

                  Colin
