TT. I would not worry about long build times. Several members have projects languishing in the stocks

My HMS Manchester sat in the shed for 20 years as a hull and superstructure before I got around to finishing it. I almost skipped it at one point.

What ship is it and how big….did I spot some 800`s or 850 motors??

hi ashley i dont think it will take that long .she is hms delight at 1/96 scale and 49 inches long the motors are only 550s . test day is fast approaching hope to get some pics of her on the water.

Ah, I have 555`s on my Manchester, also 1/96, and 56″ long. I run it on a big fat 12v 7Ahr SLA battery and the performance is very adequate.

Its a fantastic rough weather boat, partly due to the size but mostly due to the fact that the two seperate superstructure blocks sit on 1″ combings and keep out all the water !!

                Hi Tony,
I take it  your HMS Dainty is D119 not H38? Is this a scratch built model? I thought at first it was Deans Marine but I don’t think they do a 50’s D class destroyer. It will be good to see the finished model.

Great model and she is just looking good. I remeber when I was building the Alpen i sailed her a few times and then promptly told my friends that they won’t be seeing her until she is in her finishing colours. On 1 January 2008 I officially launched her in her true colours. My Pilot vessel was in storage for 22 years and the Swarte Zee 23 years.
