        Viewed from the stern, which are the best prop rotaional directions for a twin screw boat?
        Left hand clockwise – right hand anticlockwise – otherway round, or will it make any difference?…………. I just wonder if one configuration may throw out more water at the sides of the boat than the other. Rick.

          i think we’ve had this conversation a number of times on different forum…..
           
          the most common rotational direction for most ships of twin screw are
          l/h …………anti clockwise, and r/h ……clockwise
          of course there are exceptions, and no doubt these will be played out on here as on other forum,
          but those directions are the norm and listed as such in the “Nicholson’s guide to Seamanship”.

            The Royal navy I believe has screws rotating in this direction (neils post), as it has the best efficiency, but I do believe that it makes not one jot of difference on a model, other than looking right when out of the water.
             
            How about that for a contentious post ??
