I am an ex submariner

i am currantly building a porpoise class model submarine and am looking for internal module layout for servos / motors/ hydroplanes / diving compartment etc

i am informed model boats Sept 1996 has all the details can anyone give me further info to help in this project

Hi Ray

Had a quick search through the net and found this link to Metcalf Mouldings.

Looks like they supply a kit, so if it is a scratch build, they may be able to help with specifics.

Ray,was it Ray Brigden’s Seehund or an article by Roger Suitters?

Alan Poole might be able to help you there as he used one of those self same modules in his Ocelot. Lee Penny had one as well.

I’ll dig out my old Model Boats magazines later.

There are some schematics of the Ocelot system here and here

If you get in touch by email with the association of model subariners you will get a list of suppliers of that sort of kit.

There are photos of subs at a sub meeting last Sunday on the sub section of Modelboatmayhem.

Things seem to have moved on a bit since 96.A quick search reveals there are quite complex systems and gadgets on offer.

Ok Ray I have Ray’s article here in Modelboats of September 96.

It is a 4″ dia Craycraft wtc of the type I gave you info on.
