The original ship had a length of 310 feet and the drawing is around 39 inches which makes it to the common 1:96th scale.
It is quite an old plan and the recommended construction method at the time was gummed paper over balsa. Not many people still build this way nowadays but i do!
These days, the common method is to cover the hull with GRP tissue and resin to seal and strengthen it. There are plenty of people on here who will be able to help you with specific advice.
