I've made a model of my Fairey Finn, scale 1:12. I'd like to add more detail including control lines but any small cord I try doesn't look very realistic, being too stiff and retaining any kinks. Does anyone have any suggestion as to what I could use?

You may try Cornwall Model Boats for lines & cordage?

I've had a look, they have hemp and Dacron line, I would imagine the Dacron will be similar to what I have, perhaps I should try non waxed whipping twine.
