This is my first RC model boat and, having made a couple of Billings static kits I thought I would go for a proper working boat..
The hull construction is going OK at the moment with a few interesting learning exercises but I am quickly realising I need to get the motor and running gear setup sorted now or I will have issues later.
My problem is I really have no idea of what the correct motor /controller set-up for the boat should be? Its a displacement hull so absolute speed is not a key feature but I would like the boat to be controllable at slow speeds and able to reach hull speed. any recommendations as to a suitable low cost rig would be appreciated please.
My current plans are to go for an "MFA 950D 385 Type Motor with Single Ratio Metal Gearbox 2.5:1" – is this a sensible choice oro would this be just too slow for a sensible model.
I would allso appreciate any suggestions as to sensible low cost RC kit as I need to get a complete set-up
any assistance much appreciated
Yours
