Hi everyone, newbie to the world of boat building but gave a large knowledge or rc and project build. Could someone out there help me, I in the process of building a wasabi 900e and Wang to know what power source is required along with electrics servos and the rudder and prop gear. Building one out of plywood first then may go fibre glass. Look forward to building building this boat.

              Hello Grant

You have heard of the Dark Side of the force…..Well thats nothing…..Welcome to the grumpy side.

              Nice choice of model

There are a couple of websites that deal with this model built in plywood, as for engine choice it all depends on what you intend to do with the model as a potter around a boating lake is a million miles away from an offshore blaster.

Give us a little more info and we might be able to help.

HI Paul, I intend to use on canal, river and sea, i was hoping to go for the electric side of things as a lot quieter.

                  Hi Grant

It sounds like you need to look at a brushless motor setup with some of those lithium batteries all of which are a complete enigma to me. However our very own electronic guru, Mr Milbourn, has written a really useful article on the subject of electric motors…….its somewhere on this forum.

                      Hi Grant

looking at the plans the rudder is 60mm deep and 13mm wide.

The turn fin is 35mm deep and 18mm wide.

Going on about the same size boat on the Hobbyking site.

                      The Ariane 2(930mm) has a 3660-2075kv(water cooled)brushless motor with a 125Ammp water cooled ESC running a 5000mah 4S Lipo battery.

                      No prop size given sadly.

                      Rudder servo 3KG+..

They have a good number of drive unit with flex drive cables.

With that powered motor I go 5mm flex drive.
