There is a thread on here called "Prototype build of Ellie" which I assume is the same model boat.

To make a proper window you need to create a window frame and mount the glass in a similar way to full-scale practice.

More simply, you can get quite a good effect by using a thickish grade of clear plastic – perhaps 0.5mm – and cut it to size to fit individual window openings. It is easy to file down to get a good fit, and then you can decide just how much of an indent you want. Once in place the plastic can be secured by a thin bead of canopy glue around the edge from inside…

The choice of fitting and style of windows is usually left up to the individual builder as there is such a wide range of preferences.

The easy way is to tidy up the edges of the window cutouts and stick a piece of clear plastic or acetate on the inside, alternatively you might want to improve the design by including window frames [in either timber or metal] or even go to the extent of having opening windows.

I opt for the easy method and apply a thin coating of fine wood-filler to the open (cut edges) of the ply before tidying up with fine grit paper, this seals the ply and produces a nice flat surface with crisp square edges prior to painting.

Filling the edge of the ply is fiddly but can produce a very nice finish, it will also provide a good clean edge for scribing in the windows.

You are certainly getting about in your touring holiday and I am slightly jealous but I wouldn't want your fuel bill.

That's a good way of creating crisp window edges, but it'll be a bit tricky, actually knowing where they are on the model?………unless of course, the outer piece is similar to the cabin wall in size
