      Hi, Ive had an rc boat for a couple of years ,but now i want to build a large rc naval ship,but dont know where to start, im very new to all this,i would prefer to get a hull and transfer the running gear from my boat , or build one from plans ,but i just dont know where to start,i would be very grateful for any advice or direction,thanks.

          A good place to start would be to read up on the subject a bit. This will give you a general understanding of what is possible and you can then decide what direction you want to go in and ask specific questions. It is very difficult to answer a very generalised question as you have asked.
           
          There a number of books which provide a good introduction to the subject and John Cundell’s Radio Control in Model Boats available from this site is one of them, see here
           
          Also, browsing this forum and reading some of the articles available from the Home Page or by clicking the features button at the top of this page will show you a lot of useful practical information.

            My strong advice would be to start with something relatively simple and work up. It’s very easy to under-estimate the amount of labour involved in a model. I still do it constantly!

              Hi, I need some help please on locating plans for a narrow boat.Ive looked at all the kits on offer online and have decided to do my own scratch built boat,but i still need plans to go off.Im looking to build a narro boat roughly 30 to 40 inches long,can nyone point me in the right direction. Many Thanks.
