      I must have really inspired my dad he’s not just dusted down his Graupner Commerdor but has rubbed it down and is going to repaint it. He originally used Humbrol Enamels (crica 1975/6) his latest question is : Are the modern Humbrol Enamels compatable with the old one’s,  our local model shop wasn’t too sure and could only say that the paint formula had altered several times over the years ! Thanks in advance Gary

          If the paint is that old then it should be pretty stable by now!  You should have no problems with any enamel paint and certainly not the Humbrol enamels. You could probably get away with acrylics too but I would advise your Dad to stick to enamel.

          If the hull after rubbing down looks a bit patchy then he could give it a coat of the grey primer before applying the topcoats for an even finish.
           
          Let us see a picture when the job’s done.

            It was possible to purchase Humbrol (oil) paints in larger tins at one time. I have however not seen their latest acrylics(?) in anything larger than tinlets. Do they maket the larger tins now? Rick.
