Answers to your questions..

1. The formers will be removed in their entirety……………..once the glue has set.

     I just jig saw through the spine at every former……..then with a sharp hammer blow, the formers break away quite easily

2 . I use PVA glue in the construction…………….nails would cause a weakness…. as some of the planks are under great stress

3. The lacky bands can be in singles or groups or chains………….but at each end, I bend a piece of wire into an "S" shape…one at each end…………….and hook onto any part of the structure

A nice posting there, Matey!………………very amusing and informative. 

Your right about the essential tools though…….the bandsaw is invaluable for the formers and the 7`-0" plank production

This cold weather is no good for planking………………….the glue wasn`t quite set last night at 9.00

But this morning, I grappled with planks No 7……………these planks turned through 90 degrees at the stern……..and you can see how the extra length comes in handy for twisting and clamping down.
