Hi all i usally build AFV’s and am joined over at this site’s sister site Millitary modeling, But i’d like to depict a german gun boat maybe a fishing boat with extra armour a search light and 37mm AA gun any advice on getting a boat kits thats easy and cheap would be ace thanks in advance.

It might appear that our illustrious membership are ignoring you but this is not the case as we like to carefully consider our answers before putting finger to keyboard…..well thats my reason for explaining what is otherwise bad manners.

What size of boat do you wish to build and do you intended to sail it or make it as a static display?

From your discription I presume that you wish to construct an armed trawler?

Hi paul ye h sort of i’d like to build it in 1:35 scalei’d want to make it a static model as it’s going in a dio. Yeh an uparmoured trawler but quit big as it’s going to have a crew of 9 (the beds will be scrath built as will all the interior) i’ve got a german search light and want to mount that any ideas?

As the model is going into a diorama will the bottom of the hull be seen or will the model be set in a "waterline" situation (i.e. out at sea)?

I appreciate that you want to work at 1:35 but it would be of more help if you could specify an approximate length and beam as, like most things, fishing boats come in a variety of different sizes.

You could look at Marcle Models they make card kits and are very good and CHEAP.

They must have a web site that someone watching will tell us what it is.

I don’t know about the poses all that I do know is that its a German Naval Troops 1:35 scale from Dragon.

It would be easier if you gave me the exact manufacturers product code for the item that you are looking for as I am a complete novice at military kits.

But as I said before I can get just about any plastic kit.

Cool thanks paul i’ll bear you in in mind if i need a kit! I rtealy want to have a go at scracth building on this project for a Bergpanther (a tank) that needs a bit of doing up and don’t want to mess it up so can you recomend anything that will help?
