      Hi

      I have been out of model making for a few years but have decided to have a go at building a Watson Lifeboat. I have only been able to find a kit so far from metcalf mouldings, unfortunatly this is both too expensive and larger than what i would like to build. So I would be grateful for any advice on getting hold of plans for a scratch built boat or if there are any other manufacturers making the Watson in kit form.

        Try the RNLI for a set of plans or http://www.myhobbystore.com or the plans service

          hi paul and pete. just a word of help from someone who builds the old classic lifeboats ( got 2 on the go at the moment), the RNLI don’t keep plans of the old "classic double enders" anymore, as they sent them all to the Maritime Museum at Greenwich.

          The big problem is that we all know how expensive sets of plans are from the MM. At times it’s almost as cheep to buy a kit as buy plans from this source and then scratch build.

          as for the size of the Anne Letitia Russell, it is i think the smallest kit of a classic other than the rother available, and one of the smaller motorised watsons.to build.
