      Do they look better now?img_0489.jpg

It's always good to have the opinion of otherssmiley

The actual nets were 1 1/2 miles long, I don'tthink I could fit that amount of net, at 1-32 scale, on the boat.

BTW I couldn't get black net, they had sold out.

      Regards.

      Eddie.

Hi Eddie – yes, they do look better now. At least you can always replace them in the future once you are able to look around freely.

When I was looking for muslin material for the London, I was amazed at what was out there.

There are loads of net/mesh materials at a haberdashery, and if they won’t dye, I am sure a wash with acrylic paint would do. Hair nets and stuff is quite good?

As Chris says, once you can get out then you have a chance!

Have just looked in the shed and I have an unkempt square of fine nylon/plastic mesh that’s green, roughly 11 by 13 inches.

Pm me and I will post it to you if you want (it will go in a letter). I think it might do.

Have been working on Zulu today, waiting for the materials to arrive for the Huntsman, I have rigged the missen mast, using .75mm. rigging thread and 4mm. blocks, quite a fiddle for my fingers,I don't know how Bob manages to rig his tiny ships.

Back to the Fairey's tommorow, putting the glass fibre on, then back to Zulu while the resin cures.

              Regards.

              Eddie.

Zulu is now finished, most of the crew are on board getting ready for their first fishing trip,as soon as we are allowed out.

The fishing nets are much better now thanks to the generosity of Ashley, thanks Ashley.

                        Hi Eddie,

Smashing job as always 😄 we love the name !! 2020 is a year nobody will forget 😢

Maybe worth dropping Jim Pottinger a PM ? I know he loves to see his designs built, he has commented in the past.

Picked up the big boats from Corby yesterday, all went well 😄 nice drive went via StNeots as the A14 was closed !I

                        Thank goodness for satnav.

                        Regards Ray

Hi. Ray, Ashley, thanks for your kind remarks.

I take you went via. the A1M, it goes very close to Corby those boats did look good with those big 4 stroke? engines.

The name is a bit naff, but what else could it be?

                          Regards.

                          Eddie.

We took a drive out to Herne Bay this morning, this is how we found it, 3/4 covered with blanket weed blooms, with a small area that looks clear enough to sail a small boat.img_0578.jpg

                            img_0579.jpg

                            Not many people about.

Disaster! Not worth sailing in a small area `coz you know what will happen, and you will be wading ¬!!!

Yep, you don’t know what’s lurking at propeller depth angry. I will have to wait till I get home, our water there is crystal clear, or should that be gin clearwink?

I have at last had a mornings sailing, I took Zulu to Wicksteed Park boating lake yesterday, the wind was blowing a hooley. I was not sure how well she was going to steer as the rudder is steeply inclined and the prop runs in a cut out in the rudder so reducing the prop wash over it,but I had increased the width by nearly a third from the drawing and despite the strong wind she handled very well when under way.

                                  img_0669 (edited) (2).jpg

Because of the strong wind I was only able to take my hands off the controls to take one photo,

Now that I am back home I am finishing the keel for the IOM and hope to get that on the water next Sunday.

                                  Regards.

                                    Hello Eddie,

Chantry is back in business on Wednesday, but a spate of grandchildren's birthdays this week means I won't be boating until Saturday, still looking forward to getting back on the water

Good to see Zulu on the move !! where are the sails ??

                                    Regards Ray

Hi.Ray, you’re right she should have a missed at least, that will come later.

Pleased to hear that you can get back to what this hobby is about, getting a few bottoms wet, boats of course.

                                      Eddie.
