Hi Fred, Jim & all other Puffers
Mine is “Snowflake” , built 1893 as Maid of Lorn, sold 12m later to a company in Cornwall. She wasn’t suitable for their needs so was sold again 12m later to the Irwin family in Combe Martin, North Devon. She then spent the next 50 years or so working around the Bristol Channel. She ended up in the Mediterranean in the late 40s. My wife’s grandfather crewed on her part of the time which is how she (my wife) came to be in Ilfracombe where I grew up. I couldn’t find any drawings so I bought a 1/24th hull from Orion Mouldings & I have several photos so I am working with them. I’ve just finished the rudder.
The tiller arrangement is the same as on my Rother lifeboat & will have a grating over it. I suppose I could put dummy chains on it.
