Back again. Yes two Eventides here at the pond Ray.
One of the things I missed early on after leaving work was an A3 copier.
D-Day ‘event’ ok, fabulous day and caught a bit of sun on my handsome visage… we were there from about 0900 to 1500.
. No one other than our normal crew of course turned up. Trevors big Flower class corvette looked good and was the eye candy on the pond, moored up next to the 5 foot LcT. A row of German pill boxes and tanks were statically assaulted by a row of the remaining landers on the grassy knoll.
I have an idea to homogenise this for this for next week, as to be honest it just looked like two rows of stuff laid out. Public blissfully unaware of the parks D-Day connection so the info leaflets went down well. Need a D-Day sign to tell them what the diorama represents.
Make your own lander leaflets well received. It was good having a ready made one to show, and the strawboard one i made twice- size will eventually get a dad or grandad to make one. I have made a dispenser for the leaflets for next week to draw attention to them. When I finalise a few more designs they will be a permanent feature of our boating on the pond to encourage some boating craft activitly. Designs needed please, as simple as the Lander. First one can be a ferry of course as they are essentially the same. In fact I will replace the strawboard one with a hardboard version and paint one side as an lct, the other as a ferry to show the variation and utility with toy cars etc. One of those torpedo battery units underneath would of course make it actually go on the water.
