It is Vic Smeed's Sea Rider design as you stated yourself in your own post on 2nd January. Why are you making this post?

This phone is driving me nuts, so turn off auto rotate.

Trying to post pictures of this cabin cruiser to help with model identification.

It's an all wood/ ply construction being 35 1/2 inch long.

Widest beam ( 5 bulkheads and transom ) by bulkhead 3 ( third from bow ) is 10 1/2 inch, transom width is 7 3/4 inch at deck.

Draft is estimated to be 3 to 3 1/2 inch.

Skeg is 2 1/8 inch from hull so would accommodate a 4 inch prop ?

Rear compartment has 2 oval windows each side.

The front compartment/engine bay has one large oval window each side, with a smaller oval window each side more forward.

The rearward cockpit between bulkheads 4 and 5 is open with a raised floor.

The front compartment removable roof steps down and forward between bulkhead 2 and 3.

The rear compartment has a lower removable roof.

The hull is v'd slightly at the stern suggesting the model will plane.

Looks as if it was made for ic engine with bearers being 1 inch apart.

I cannot remember if the new enya 15 marine glow came with it or not.

A picture is worth a thousand words so will persevere trying to post a few of this model, please be patient, believe me I'm being real patient with this phone……

            Diawl….

You may need to put the image into a PC and rotate and resave it.. It all depends on how the image has been encoded. and the software displaying the image. I don't have any problems but I use a camera. I know that people using hand held communications devices can experience difficulty.

If you can only post it sideways I guess we can crick our necks…

                img_20210114_160858.jpgDon't have a landline or internet pc……yet.

The picture is in the album now, but will try and get into this post…….if that's possible….bingo, I've just won a coconut…I'll head butt it into touch😀

The engine looks brand new in its box, from Ripmax, L EY 15/4D, enya marine 15-IV T.V. with flywheel and silencer.it looks as if the engine has never been run.

It looks as if it will fit in the rather poor engine bearers in the boat, but I will make an "engine plate" from some 4mm alloy plate.

There is only one place on the nearest lake of launch/retreval so could really do with a centrifugal clutch.

I will think about making one as well as a fnr gearbox as well.

A recoil starter would also be good. I made a "seagull" rope starter pulley for the merco 61 in the big huntsman but would need a transporter for that, as well as the perkasa…

This would be a nice boat as it's relatively small and light so easy to carry to the lake. Gates make a "transporter" a bit impractical.

I may "alter" the gate as a perkasa will be made at some point. 😁

I believe that is a 'Sea Commander', made by Aeronaut.

                    Thanks for the feedback Kip.

It must be 40years old ish as I have had it for at least 25 years, and it looked old when I got it.

The name sounds familiar, is that the model they sailed across the channel, ed engine and valve radio ?

Will look thru my b+w model mags later…..

Aerokits actually, but yes, almost certainly a Sea Commander. Look it up on Google and there are lots of images.

The one that went across the Channel was the Sea Queen, a similar but larger design.

                        Cool.

Been looking/wasting time more like on e bay…saw a smallish centrifugal clutch, but years ago electromagnetic clutches, and even electromagnetic gear selection was used.

Cars had an electromagnetic cooling fan, which transmitted some horsepower, so they work.

Electro car transmission clutch, even o/b motor gear selection.

Will have a good think about this, rotating transformer/induction coil and detent possibly, so no brushes and electrical noise…

Yes I know, go electric…I like ic engines and have them….glow plug size spark plugs are available, no real weight problem with a boat..lots of room inside the hull.

Even mulling over petrol/electric…but I have to consider the pennies, don't have many spare.
