      Hello Fellow Boaters

I bought this boat 80% finished from a club member.

I changed the floor to wood and added more timber strips to bow.

This turned into a problem as I ran out of strips !!!

I found so matching veneer sheets and glued that together.

Cut this into the required width with my 63 mm little bench saw.

I have ran the boat with the C3542-1450kv brushless motor on 3S Lipo battery.

      60Amp ESC and a 2 blade 40mm prop.

Because of no chine rails it is a very wet running boat.

Looks like adding the chine rails and repainting the bottom of the boat.

You have made a very good job of completing the model Harry. In 2010 we visited a boat show in Vancouver where there were many classic boats including an immaculate Chris Craft Constellation.

You’ve made just the right amount of improvements Harry, good to see you posting here again and showing us what you have been up to.  Interesting thoughts on chine rails.  Does she plane well and, if so, what sort of length is out of the water?  Maybe getting the bow a little higher by ballasting or increasing performance might reduce some of the ingress of water.

            Hi Richard

Performance is not the problem the 3542-1450kv on 3S is the same setup on my Sea Rover.

              HI Richard

I changed down from a 3300mah battery to a 2200mah battery which got the bow up ,but the boat was bouncing up and down.

The water is still coming in the boat.

              Sacks of speed !!!

Same we see with Club 500s.  Move the battery back to get the bow up and it bounces up and down, but move it forward to stabilise the bouncing and it slows down due to the increased drag.  Always interesting to play around and try to find the best compromise.  It has to be worth trying some chine rails to deflect the water.  You never know, you might get a bit more lift as well!

                    HI Philip

The boat was not porpoising with the 3300mah battery, so I had the CG right in the first place.

                      HI Chaps

I added 4mm square chine rails which has fix the boat.

It’s made the boat totally usable.
