Hi Ian and welcome to the forum. I assume we are talking about a model boat here and you want radio control of the motor?

If that is the case I usually go for an Mtroniks ESC. They do a wide range going up to 40 A so there will be one to suit your needs. Have a look through here:

Hi Ian. As Richard says. However.

You will need to get an ESC to overmatch the 25A current draw you currently have, or the ESC will be operating at full capacity and also get very hot and/or need cooling.

I would suggest a 40A ESC and try to ensure that there is some airflow through the boat, or it will act like an oven and just keep on getting hotter and hotter inside!

A picture of your boat would be good, there is a guide to posting photos on the front forum page.

That was what I meant by identifying the 40A one.  It's not much bigger than the others anyway so well worth going for.

And make sure you fit a fuse, that current can do a lot of damage!

Both Ashley & Richard provided the perfect suggestion, You need a 40A ESC for best fit. Also need a fuse to avoid damage.

                  Hi Ian

May think about changing the batteries to NMIH or Lipo ones for a lot less weight which will be less work for the motors.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have a 60 amp ESC on order and have sized the props slightly smaller I will post further updates.

                      Hi Ian

                      A 5800mah 3S ( 11.1 volts) 60C Lipo battery is about 550 grams.
