My mate gave me this boat because of health problems.
He was given the boat a number of years ago and had fix down the deck and removed the wheelhouse which was glue to the deck.
No raised rear section and was short by 1/2 inch to the stern.
This required cutting the two sections apart, installing full length stringers with cross pieces.
Removed all the plastic windows which had more glue than window.
Removed the 3/16 shaft and bushes.
Installed custom bushes and 4mm stainless drive shaft.
Installed a 3639-1100kv 800Watt brushless motor, 60 Amp car ESC and a 3 blade 37mm prop.
Has the wheelhouse was in state I removed a lot of the forward section and installed double 10mm magnets at the front of the wheelhouse and a single double magnet at the stern.
I can stick my fingers in the window holes and lift the whole boat with battery, so I do not think it's coming off in a hurry !!
Regards to you all and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
That's Fairey with an E……unless you're into the kind with wings that allegedly live at the bottom of the garden. I checked ours once and all we had there was slugs. I don't suppose they bother you too much in that climate.
Harry. Only 23 degrees! You will freeze over! We pray for 23 over here….
Suprised you removed lead ballast..didn’t think things like this were fitted with ballast? Where is the roller bearing in the picture? And how did you manage to fit it on the existing tube please.
From the left, Nylon 4mm lock nut, prop, drive dog, Teflon washer, Teflon lower bearing, outer tube, 4mm stainless shaft with fuel tubing, 4mm roller bearing and metal uni-joint(4mm to motor shaft size).
We do make our own solid aluminum coupling with Allen key grub screws, but without an alignment tool the uni joint works OK.
