      p1010095.jpgp1010094.jpgp1010093.jpgp1010092.jpgHi All

My decide to rope me into going to collect quilting material from a lady.

      Only 1/2 a hour drive!!!

What did they talk about all the way there and back???

Also a hour of moving material and yes more quilting talk.

I noticed some rc model planes hanging up and ask about them.

Her hubbie was a rc plane guy, but with health problems retired from it.

I said I am into rc boats and was given a model boat kit.

It was not a kit, but, I said I will take it.

Harry that's a very nice little boat and quite sought after. Can fetch quite a good price especially with a box in good nick. I am v jealous..

Usually these things had motors so built in that its difficult to get them going again but I see that there appear to be pulleys on the ends of the shafts so even if the motor is knackered, another one with pully should be an easy fix.

          Well spotted.

Equal jealousy. I spent much time waiting for the No.10 bus on Waterloo Rd in Blackpool looking in Diggles shop window at this very boat. 1950's motors were not noted for long life, but a modern version, if needed, should go in easily, for a given flexible value of "easy". Depends on what you intend to do with it.

That motor looks suspiciously like one of these, without the usual top-mounted shaft.

I don't remember much about the fifties but no doubt Malcolm will be able to confirm this… wink

I think you will find that Harry can squeeze in an Megga power industries Turbo Inrunner of 2Kw and 50,000Kv quite easily….

Not really yer 'onner. I was mostly into trains back then. Diggles toy shop also had a lot of Rivarossi on display in their window to gaze upon while waiting for the bus to get home on, leaving my nose print on their plate glass. I didn't get into making boats until rather later, when Kako and Mabuchi motors transformed the market into something that my pocket money would stretch to. Airfix Hood was about the first if I remember right.

                          Hi All

Well the boat has gone to a good home which turned out to be that his father bought him one for his 10th birthday whilst they where still living in the UK.

It's getting a wooden stand made for the boat and re-making missing parts( crane, tow hook, etc.).

                          Harry
