J, K, N Class Destroyer

I’m coming to this post very late as I’ve just found it.

My input to the post is that my grandfather scratch built this very same model destroyer using plans from the ME.  I do wonder if this is his actual build!  As a child I recall playing with this model as it was stored on a shelf.  At that time it was complete with superstructure, guns and full steam plant.  If it is still of interest to you I do have complete volumes of ME with all the articles relating to the Javelin build.  I also have the original steam plant, steam engine, boiler, paraffin burner, paraffin fuel tank and associated pipework.

For many years I hoped to build HMS Javelin myself and have now done it using wood to the same scale dimensions as the original.  This time being fully radio controlled with operating guns, sound and other accessories.

Hi Bob,

Good luck getting a reply from a 5 year old post ! but you never know 🙂

We have lost quite a few people from this forum when the format changed a couple of years ago 🙁
