As a bit of a leg pull I was looking for a celeb with a suntan, however with reference to the missing photo its nice to know that the civil service are working so hard, my congratulations to james bond and his cohorts. Perhaps I should refrane from mentioning something serious like supporting an unpopular political party!!

Could the difference between this site and the Military one be a different age group, I would imagine that a lot of young persons like to work/play with Armaments etc.

We have around 100 members in my Boat club, the last 3 Juniors have now turned into Adults, we have tried all sorts of things to get them interested, we even contacted all the local Schools to see if they would be interested in the "Cost nothing boat comp" none even replied.

Chaps. On the subject of great sites, MB of course, Could I make a generalisation and say that MB caters mostly for working radio control model boats? This I feel is perhaps a somewhat specialised field of endeavour (when it comes to the mass market) compared to the vast subject that is "military modeling", a title that encompases anything from the Hittites to the gulf. Might there be a case for including a bit more "plastic magic" in the magazine, and perhaps the odd static, or even articles on important museum exhibits (for instance) thus broadening the feel of the rag and thus leading to more interest in the website? Just a thought. You dont see much, or is it ANY, motorized stuff in MM.? One might have thought that Model Boats was a young persons thing, all that running around the pond, leaving the wrinklies sitting at the kitchen table gluing together yet another Airfix tank….Ashley (only a bit wrinkly)

Hi Len,

You’ve probably hit the nail on the head there – Would you let your young son/daughter hang around a bunch of old men like us ! – I wouldn’t.  Our club is the same, we have one junior member, who on his first visit to the club meeting won the prize draw – haven’t spoken to him since ! (cause I have, but trying to get him to bring his mates is something else)

What you need to do is redesign the logo – instead of calling a transmitter a transmitter change the name to PS3 or Wii – that’ll get em in.  in a nutshell, if it doesn’t have a keyboard and a monitor they just will not be interested.

As for the military site, they are just a bunch of power mad wannabe dictators hell bent on making weapons of mass destruction – only joking Vinnie.
