Eddie, I think I might shelve the sound or go with the P110 "Noisy Thing II", anything less than 'real' sound will be too toy like for me. I had an almost instant reply back from mr-rcworld and they are not dynamic just a looped playback, good sound otherwise. I'll be interested if you get a sound sample of the other module.

      Regards

      Roger

Hi. Roger, I would prefer a recorded sound, but until we can find a unit at an affordable price I will stay with what I have.

There is a German made unit sold on ebay, but there is not much information about it, but at £52.00 it might be OK.

One of our club members used to work in electronics and he has spoken about them saying they are good, I will talk to him again when I am back from Broadstairs.

        Regards.

        Eddie.

Hi. Roger, I am doing some sailing down at Hearne Bay in Kent, have the TSB and Master Elliott with me.

          dscf3492.jpg

Not finished yet but a good chance to test the hull and electrics, very stable and fast but you don't have to open the regulator fully.

          dscf3495.jpg

Leaves a nice wake. The engine sound is better on 3 volts, not such a harsh sound, but too quiet on 1 1/2 volts.

          Regards.

          Eddie.

Hi Eddie, Looks strange with nowt on top, kinda bald headed smiley. You're a bit out of your patch aren't you? holiday?

I've been waiting for some paint and bits for the wheelhouse so have started on the dumb barge but should be back to the tug by the end of this week.

I should be getting my Veronica stuff this week hopefully so getting a bit excited. Got rid of a load of model railway bits this week so might look out for a pre-loved vessel of some description just so that I can go boating and have some fun, anyways beddy time now.

            Bye for now

Hi. Roger, I hope you had a good nights sleep and you are now bright eyed and bushy tailedsmiley.

Yes I am with friends down here for the week, he is another keen boater, and a Roger.

As you say it looks strange without the wheelhouse but that will soon be fitted when I get home. It seems to shrink as soon as it's on the water.

Just got back from another morning sailing with both the TSB and the tug, along with members of two local clubs,

a very pleasant morning in lovely sunshine and no cold wind.

I hope you will post some pictures of your build of the dumb barge as I will be making a start on building it soon.

              Regards.

              Eddie.

Hi Eddie, slept like a log but didn't feel any better for itsad, never mind laugh.

Hadn't thought of including pics of the build, I'll get some up later this week, that'll confuse some who come looking for a tug laugh.

Just tried to buy a Percasa on Mayhem but the guy won't post and a 300 mile round trip is a bit too much for me to do in a day, very disappointed as I think I live in a black hole as far as like minded boaters are concerned, I had the same problem when doing Ho and On30 model railway as well.

My paint arrived today so should be back to my wheelhouse subject to SWIMBO's requirements devil

Got a few more bits to end on Ebay tonight so hoping for a bidding frenzy……not smiley.

                Regards

Hi. Roger, I was wondering how you were getting on with the design of the dumb barge? with no access to my building facilities I have spent a bit of time drawing the barge to 1/4 scale to try and tie in the given dimensions with the photo's. This will now help me when I get to making it.

                      Regards.

                      Eddie.

Hi Eddie, I've cut out the sides, bottom and bulkheads using his measurements plus cut to fit and got some of the support battens glued on so I'll start making the box this weekend, photos later this evening.

You know that Perkasa (correct spelling this time smiley) that I was on about?

                        Well,

                        img_20190516_165755.jpg

It berthed at 16:30 this evening, and no I didn't drive up there to get it either. It must have been deemed to be right by Poseidon because it turned out that his daughter and husband were coming to Hereford today so there you have it, I have my MTB, comes with all the running gear, batteries for drive, radar and nav lights, just requires tx & rx and good to go. Needs a bit of tlc and I shall look to build it on so happy chappy. smiley

Time to scare some duckys devil

Hi.Roger, that looks good, as you say a bit of work to bring it to your satisfaction, but then out into the sunshine and fresh air instead of a stuffy workshop or cutting grasswink.

I am looking forward to seeing your progress on the barge.

                          Regards.

Got some more done on the barge today, started gluing up the assembly:

                            img_20190517_151844.jpg

Not much to see really, even though I'm sorting the workshop and making space it seems to get sucked up by stuff:

                            img_20190517_152602.jpg

                            img_20190517_152637.jpg

ooh whats this then? Another lady in my life? laugh

I've done a little bit more on the tug, mainly painting bits that are going in the wheelhouse so that I can panel the outside and finish that part off.

Tested out the Perkasa and running gear seems ok slowly identifying bits to be done before I get her bottom wet.

Anyway, I think that's all for now.

                            Regards

Here's some further work on the barge:

Yes once the momentum kicks in it's easy to knock the boats out at a fast rate, having completed 30 boats in 6 years, I'm now selling 6 at my local boat shop at Chatham Dockyard, I must slow down a bit but everything is at 120% for me 😃

                                          Hi Roger,

Just a few considerations to consider :-

                                          May take 5 years

Too long for my current car

                                          Having spent £300 on bits

What do you do with it

                                          Where do I keep it

So having agreed it's a total waste of time, I will follow your instruction and start cutting the bulkhead 😀

Just have a cat & aeroplane to finish first

                                          Regards Ray

                                            Ok Ray,

lets take it from the top laugh

May take 5 years – And?

Too long for my current car – 5 years time you'll have changed your car wink

Having spent £300 on bits – cheapster

What do you do with it – Have fun

Where do I keep it – Garage – leave the new car outside.

So having agreed it's a total waste of time, I will follow your instruction and start cutting the bulkhead 😀 – That's the way, positive forward thinking. laugh

Just have a cat & aeroplane to finish first – Leave the furry feline alone and what do you want another plane for? Have you crashed all the others?

                                            Have a great weekend
