Does anyone know what size  the Model Slipways AZIZ props are ( Dia and Thread) also I have removed the port prop and on the prop is marked 50R is this prop on the correct side. I am upgrading to brass from plastic props one problem I have found with the port prop is that if weed gets caught in the prop it spins of the shaft thread (it,s a right "?&***£!!! to get back on). Also I have found two Aziz parts pictures on the web one shows a four blade prop and the other shows a three blade prop. Any thoughts!.

        Hi Robert

The props on the "AZIZ" are 50mm and  M4 and Plastic supplied with my kit which I bought direct from Model Slipway, I mentioned to the Boss Lawrie White about the plastic props and he advised 4 bladed props from the stall next to his which I bought !The ones supplied were 3 bladed plastic

As for one of the props spinning off with the weeds,I used "loctite" on my wife’s tug with the two props and have’nt had any trouble since.

        Hope this helps .

Thanks for the info. If you have built the Aziz how did you get on with waterproofing the rear deck

             Hi Robert

I’ve still got a few bits and pieces to do before I have the maiden voyage,ie connections for the lights (30) and some more deck clutter,I do like to have plenty of deck clutter.Do you have deck clutter on which might weight the deck cover own a bit ?

A friend of mine beat me onto the water with his "ARIF" though he cheated and bought his secondhand, his trouble was’nt water over the back though,it had two motors and two ESC but only one 27meg  2ch receiver and tranny to match, obviously a cheap swap by the seller. Still it sailed well after the 4 ch receiver was added (more manuverabell)  and has had no  trouble with the water over the rear end, though not sailed in winter and gale conditions.

I always tell my wife not to go backwards too fast with her Wyeforce as the rear of that is similar to the "AZIZ" with a low rear end and lots of freeing ports and rear hatch cover, results no water in the boat or very little (just a soak up with a sponge at the end of the day) See album !

              Ducky

Just fitted a nice pair of four blade brass props, bath trials were OK and they seem to give more push than the three blade props. I have also found a bilge pump and control board to fit in Jake.

I went down to Portsmouth dockyard the other week to eyeball a model boat show (some exceptional boats on display plus the recent front cover marine modelling international boat Toisa Polaris. I spoke to a chap who told me to try putting white grease around the inside of the rear deck to stop water ingress, could be worth a try.

The bilge pump and control board that could be worth a look.  You will find them on Hunter Systems  Web page Cost about £35…

It is Red oxide, must be the cheap camera or the angle it’s taken at, there again it could be your spec’s they are doing a good deal at Specsavers at the moment Bob.
