      vit 1.jpgHi All,

As I hav'nt started a new boat for a few weeks and being bored at the weekend ! I thought I'd knock up a hull from Vitrex 5mm foam floor underlay Screw fix 10 sheets £17.99 , well the hull floor is one peice with a vee cut out to make the shape at the bow with bulkhead and transom and sides rather Heath Robinson but the result is here, glued together initially with UHU Por contact glue, and the joints epoxied with Poundland cheap stuff, it will be a test bed for a ducted fan, then probably a brushed 400 to see how they compare?? with the fordeck on it weighs in at 2 ounces and is 18" long and has cost £1.79 + the glue used. Will be glass clothed eventually.vit 5.jpg

      Regards Ray

Ray,…..test bed for a brushless then a brushed edf?? Or brushless edf and then a 400 with propshaft etc….or….?

i think a Swordfish design would work with that foam….send u a plan if you want.

              Hi Chris,

Yes i'm often wondering why I do it ??

              Ashley,

Yes I have a brushless EDF 50mm FMS with a 3 cell lipo 11.1volts which I thought I may try as an experiment, as my Wetjet design from years ago was too heavy, the fan is destined for an aeroplane in the end

I'm not sure I have seen Swordfish, is it one of yours ??

              Regards Ray

                  Hi Tim,

Yes I had to clear out corner of the garage for the gas board to replace the pipe to the meter so had to dismantle my railway and found loads of treasure under the bench

Looking forward to floating boats and flying planes now like never before

                  Regards Ray

                    Hi All,

Well the foredeck and side decks are on ready for glass clothing, the advantage of keeping the side sheeting square at the chine is you have a ready made spray rail, I hope it works ? never going to be a thing of beauty but should go! alright Mk 2 should look better The Cigarette behind, next months MB's free plan

Regards Rayvit & cig apr 21.jpg
