      Hello

I am new to this forum and after searching I am not able to find any information.

I have just been given a part completed model of the trawler Boston Fury. I know nothing of trawler deck furniture or gear, particularly the gallows and winches.

Searching for pics is a never ending task and not seen in many pics.

Being landlocked in the middle of Canada doesn't help.

      Any info is appreciated.

      Tom

          Hi Tom,

          Welcome to the forum.

It is possible that the boat has been constructed using the Kingston Mouldings GRP hull: **LINK** in which case Robin Whitmarsh may sell you just a plan if you explain the circumstances and ask him nicely!

Colin, this is what I have. I was told that the hull had been changed, but I wasn't told what the changes where.

I have purchased a plan of Mar2281, which is what this boat is supposed to be.

There is very little detail on the part of the plan I now have (general arrangement).

I am not looking to do a  dead scale model, just a reasonable rendition of a typical trawler of the period, with as much accurate detail as I can do.

              Tom,

I'm afraid I am no expert on trawlers. However, are you aware that Mountfleet Models market a kit of Boston Typhoon to 1:32 scale as opposed to your 1:38 sale Boston Fury.

There are some useful photos on their website, click on the various images.

                Thanks again Colin,

Yes, that is a gorgeous model but by the time it got here to Canada, I would have to sell my house to pay for it.

I have emailed them to see if they will sell some of the fittings kit on it's own. That would help no end.

                Tom
