Hi Richard. Unfortunately I play with a band on weds morning so am unavailable sorry.
Richard had some bits of dowel (masts) on the paddler on Sunday and what a difference they make to an (essentially) sailing type vessel. Restores proportion and so on very nicely.
oddly enough Ray (where are you??) has his 5 foot Belfast down one day awhile back, with no superstructure, for a test, and that looked really odd…the turrets looked to be much too far apart.
Ferry bottom painted after new bilge keels, and the other bits of lead which were inside at the rear have been stuck on the bottom. I am expecting a noticeable improvement in stability….
Not only that, but some oversize =tires= have been glued on front and rear to help preserve the paint. I am not over worried about paint loss but there are two gloss colours to do on this one rather than the simply undercoat grey of the landers. Using acrylic Rustins undercoat for the grey ones is very easy, with water washable brushes and fast dry time.
