Nice boating Sunday, however the Mintanic (I was boating by bike again as had a band job in the afternoon) was glitching uncontrollably, for what reason I have yet to determine and was not cured at the pond by the usual plug reseats and so on, the glitching persisting even when I moved the esc well outside the hull on its wires, and rearranged the aerial, on 27M.
One of those things, it was ok last time….?
My mate Kevin Beally boy popped down with his crash tender/fireboaty craft, this time with a bit of weight in the stern which did improved to look, but it was still very tender at speed.
W e discussed options to reduce/cure this.
In order of easyness…. Change props for something less pitchy, swap the handedness of the props, make the props both go one way, add bias weight, fit trim tabs.
As we saw it, less pitch=less torque, swapping differential prop rotation may assist due to some hull hydrodynamic peculiarity, having both props rotate the same way might induce prop torque to counter list at speed, weight bias same but makes the boat list at rest….finally trim tabs, however the boat is quite thin to these may not be an option.
Other than the trim tabs, all the fixes are easy….
