Tried going boating but queued up halfway round the Diana Fountain and gave up before trying to get into the car park.

Went home and worked on Jessie.

Thought that might be the case. Got there at 0920 and it was pretty much full up. Will aim for 0900 next time (tues) and I used to get there before 9 but have been slipping lately.

Had Manchester and Ferry. Lots of interest in all the boats from the public.

More people are coming to the park that haven’t been before simply because it’s open this time around, got asked a lot more if we were here on a regular basis and didn’t know you could sail here questions. All good , might get a few new faces turn up.

Thanks for letting me drive Manchester – teach me to bring boats without receivers in them.

London tomorrow if it looks ok and not blowy.

Saucer steamed up on Sunday just sitting on its stand. I might have to get a little computer fan to try and circulate so air. I may need then to add more vents in the dome base.

Will enlarge the plasma vents to the maxicanget. Have decided how to bling up the hull as well..sunglasses at the ready!

A sail day today, three sail boats with more than one mast each on the water, although the wind got up and we had to give up and head to port to resume boating on electric power!! At one point the London was actually losing ground despite the application of full power, and I had almost no steering. I will have to do something with the rudder, like make it bigger!

Other boats all ok except Peters gentleman`s racer which glitched out and went round in circles for ages on its own. Luckily it just blew into shore so no issues recovering.

Bit nippy. Warm coat hat gloves for show` n` tell tomorrow…

Film on the One Show this evening about the deer including one going through the water. You have a lovely venue there.

Taped hopefully the right show, not looked yet. However, it is a lovely park in the sunshine!.

deer a bit of a nuisance at "The Rut" but otherwise keep themselves to themselves.

Saw Trevor`s Jessie yesterday and was impressed. Powerful and with a good action. Suggested (as it suddenly came to me) a foolproof method of stabilisation but was REBUFFED….we will see….the method should work if all else fails, but there again hopefully will not be needed.

I am being left put of the rower stakes here and may have to consider…sob….a ROWING VESSEL!

Yes, your the only one that hasn’t got a rowing oddity. Always good to try new things like my recent introduction to brushless motors, still surprises me how small and powerful they are. Their all on my Christmas list now 😁

Building one of Ashley’s whizzer’s at the moment — another first for me.

Building the new boat is becoming a bit testing. There seems to be a lot to do before sticking the sides together, and I have only just glued the stern on, and the waterjet unit in (with silicone). Due to the smallness of the fixing screws (one of which sheared off) this operation has to be done in one, so was a bit messy although with clear silicone it doesnt look that way!

However, the design is evolving nicely and a few aspects of the build have proven to be easier than expected. As usual, I never plan in detail, as I need to see the bits come together before moving on….see what room there is and so forth.

The top hatch has been cut out and a combing glued in place on top of the top sheet (another departure to that originally planned as this was going to be underneath the sheet), and the acrylic hatch also cut to fit. I have no suitable screws however so have had to order some no6 x 1/2" st/st pan head self tappers.

The waterproof hatch will in theory allow me to operate under water but we will see.

                            Tomorrow….Nelson, Tup and Ecranoplan.

Will try to get there before the parking spaces go.

Great day this morning if a bit nippy.

All vessels (and there were 18 on the grassy knoll) performed as per. 8 attendees in total including Noels two lads and a man/son combo who brought their flat bottomed cabin cruiser along. This is the one with a 4000Kv motor (!!!!!) and which stripped the coupling. THIS time it went ok and at a suggestion from a well known expert (coff coff) he put his spare batts in the stern and it went a bit better as the nose was digging in a bit before. Wasn`t enough to stop his new coupling coming loose again!

Again good interest from the public. Didn`t take a lander unusually and there were several "can i have a go" please which had to be rebuffed (as they didnt want to pay the asking price but we thought a tenner a go was very reasonable). Will ensure I put one in in future whatever the weather etc.

I arrived at 0845 and it was already very busy. I think we all got there by 0915 and probably the car park was getting on to full about then.

Interesting to see the difference in performance between the Ekranoplans. I don’t think they have been out together since Noel put a brushless motor in…their last outing one after another would have been in my possession and a speed 400 in place, with the old 3700kv motor in the wooden one.

Soon we will have FOUR Tups whizzing about which we be such super fun, and hopefully they will all be ready when we get some ice,…..

Flying cable car I always think for the prop one.

Although very wind dependant, these things perform big time, and what gets me is the slowness of them. They get up on the foil very easily.

Actually, the foils are just brilliant. No sophisticated shaping, and they are self levelling….the boat will only rise as far as the foil will support the weight of it.

Ashley. (Rake those leaves up lad)

Are the foils wings airfoils or just flat planes? Do they point for/aft or is there a twist somehow?

I am trying to work out why they want to lift. idea question dont know
