Thanks Colin. It is what it is nowadays. Has been a few weeks now and time eases things like this.
Still have 9 cars to get off road though…
On more boating matters..
Given up on the balsa cement arriving, so have stuck the top and bottoms on Swordfish with Gorilla glue. Although you have to clamp this down quite hard, the expansion oft the stuff is fantastic for filling gaps and irregularities (obviously not that there where any on mine, obviously) but it also dries yellowish and nice and crunchy hard, so it Sands well
This is important as I won’t be painting the model so the joints need to be good..PVA is a bit soft unless you leave it for weeks. Sanding the sides flat and top flat today, possibly might get the cabin sides/front on.
The original had a roof, wot I won’t be fitting as I need a good open air-inlet path, so there will be a cabin floor made from 0.8mm ply which will ‘clip’ into place, or that’s the plan.
screwed the servo in place and made a garden wire pushrod (that runs in a plastic tube) and incorporated the classic electrical connector lock brass insert adjuster (makes alterations so easy).
